while jack was sick, he was asking in his cute little sickly weak voice, to go to target and pick out a green thomas the train. in the past i have refused to buy thomas the train stuff because it is SOOOO expensive! $11 for 1 little train! johne wanted to surprise him when he got home last night, so he scoured target for a green thomas the train. he found red and blue, but no green. he didn't know how hard green would be to find! he kept looking and looking and finally saw a green one and bought it. johne was excited to get home are surprise jack with his sick wish toy, imagining jack jumping up and down with delight! johne got home, gave jack big hugs and then pulled out the green train. jack had no expression. johne asked if it was the wrong color or was too small. jack said that he wanted a small mini train, but didn't get sad or mad, just went on playing with a couple of (free) 3cc syringes, flying them around like rockets! why do we spend all this money on toys when they like the free non toys!?
ps. we are returning the expensive green thomas the train!

that's so disappointing after johne worked so hard! o well, at least jack is happy and feeling good!
